Have you actually been to Waihi Beach if you haven't stopped in to the infamous Waihi Beach Pub? That's a good question...
If the walls of the Waihi Beach Pub could talk, they’d have more than a few ripping stories to tell from 51 years of faithfully serving the locals, the holiday makers and anyone passing by with a thirst. While a few things have changed at the Beach Pub over the years, what has never been compromised is the commitment to serving up good times to anyone with a thirst and the desire to enjoy themselves in a friendly, welcoming environment that mirrors the warm atmosphere of the seaside town itself.
Located just past the roundabout at the entrance to Waihi Beach itself, the Beach Pub is an
iconic landmark that welcomes people into the town and tempts them in through the doors to
see what’s happening. And there is always something happening at the Beach Pub, whether it be the friendly camaraderie and competitiveness of the regular quiz nights on Wednesday night, DJ sets lighting up the stage on Friday and Saturday nights, some of New Zealand’s and the worlds finest talent who have enthralled the crowds over the years, or the chilled out
ambiance of the Open Mic on a Sunday afternoon. There is a TAB outlet located in the Pub, a
pool table to test snooker skills on, and plenty of outdoor grass space for the kids to roam around.
Whether you like your Pale Ales, Pinots, Pepsi, Pinocolatas or ‘just a Waikato, thanks barman’,
the well-stocked bar caters for everyone. Look out for the big Waihi Beach Hotel sign at the start of Wilson Road, pop in and say hi...and become a part of the history of a venue that is still kicking out energy and action over 50 years on.
